Weddings in Tuscany - Italy
In a room surrounded by soft hues of greys and pinks interrupted by large depictions of historic events captured and retold by a painter from long ago, a violin plays sweet music to greet the guests and the wedding couple. A magnificent candle lit chandelier lights up the room and creates a magical atmosphere. With the intimate exchanges of vows and promises of love the couple then walk through the medieval building into the main piazza. The local people have all stopped to see the wedding party and enjoy the buzz of the guests congratulating the couple. Two elderly men raise their wine glasses to the newly-weds and offer a toast to their health. Other villagers wave and shout 'auguri' to offer their best wishes to the couple as they pass through the medieval-walled village.
As the wedding cars weave their way through the Tuscan countryside the roads are lined with olive trees and vineyards which are broken up by open fields offering a burst of colour. Before long the road breaks away into a simple track which snakes its way up the hillside to a small hamlet. Arriving at the castle the guests pass through the wooden door to be greeted with aperitifs looking out onto the surrounding landscape. Guests can sample some of the local cheeses and enjoy the vast selection of sliced meats before sitting down to enjoy the wedding breakfast under a gazebo. The main course, the famous Florentine steak, is brought before the guests and is cut in front of them. After the full-bodied Tuscan reds have washed down the last of the dinner, the couple and their guests make their way into the castle courtyard which is lined with Roman torches. As the flames light the courtyard the cheers bounce back off the walls as the happy couple cut the wedding cake. The couple then take to the dance floor as the band strikes up its first song of the night for their first dance together as husband and wife. As the festivities draw to a close, the guests congratulate the bride and groom and everyone makes their way back to their accomodation in the renovated apartments which encircle the castle. The gentle summer night breeze carries the sound of crickets and the clear sky is filled with stars. Gazing at each other the Bride and Groom raise their glasses in their own private celebration to their dream Tuscan wedding.

A wedding scene
Tuscany was the influential centre of the Renaissance period which resulted in many beautiful treasures scattered throughout the towns and villages in this area. Many precious works of art, architecture and literature found around the world today were inspired by the beautiful Tuscan landscape. Throughout the various seasons the Tuscan hills are like that of a patchwork quilt with the cross-stitches of olive trees, crocheted patterns of vines and back stitches of cypresses. The medieval hill top towns with their castle walls and church towers stretching upwards to meet the blue skies. The narrow roads which wind up the hillside to these villages carry the perfume of pine trees and are aligned by wild flowers of purple and blue hues. This magnificent Tuscan landscape is an artists dream as it changes continually depending on the time of day and the time of the year. As Spring time arrives giving life to the surrounding vegetation through to the harvesting of the crops in Autumn, the Tuscan landscape is breathtaking and offers a unrivalled backdrop for your dream wedding.
