This 15th Century Palace is located at one of the most beautiful points along the "Canal Grande", half way between the Bridge of Rialto and Ca' Foscari's vault. The Grand Canal Palace was built in the Gothic floreal style, and has undergone several expansions and restorations throughout its time. The delightfully sophisticated Baroque decoration inside the Palace is the work of some of the most celebrated Venetian artists of the 18th Century such as Jacopo Guarana, Gaspare Diziani, Giambattista Tiepolo and Giuseppe Angeli. The magnificent Baroque staircase rises grandly up from the grand floor to the top floor of the Palace and was built to replace the old Gothic outer steps. One of the many charms of the Palace is that on the first floor the magnificent chandeliers hold real candles to create a magical atmosphere at your luxurious wedding.

This location has played host to many important VIP events, such as, the launch of fragrances and other designer treats. Thanks to recent renovations, the re-establishment of its art collections, the restoration of its original antique furnishings, the Grand Canal Palace has again regained the splendour which in past centuries was admired by famous visitors among whom Tzar Paul of Russia, Joséphine Bonaparte and Joseph Il of Austria.

You will make a unique entrance to your wedding reception at the Grand Canal Palace, assisted from your boat or Gondola by porters onto the private jetty of the Palace. The large spacious entrance hall in the Palace is lined with roman torches creating a romatic atmosphere as well as giving warmth to the grand stone structure of the ground floor. The grand sweeping staircase will then take you and your guests to the first floor which is lit by enchanting chandeliers, twinkling and dancing to create beautiful shadows on the frescoed ceiling. What you need to know:

• This venue does not have accommodation however there are many 4 and 5 star hotels in the surrounding area 
• The Grand Canal Palace does require external catering as well as the hire fee for the palace.
• The Grand Canal Palace offers many possibilities for weddings with rooms over 3 floors, therefore due to its size we recommend this venue for wedding parties with a minimun of 50 guests
• Taxi boats will be required to transport guests from the Palace to the town hall and back
• As in all buildings in Venice dancing is not permitted on the ‘noble floor’ (the first floor) but dancing is permitted on the ground floor
